McMillon is dean emeritus of the College of Biblical Studies at Oklahoma Christian University and a Distinguished Professor of Bible. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in marriage and family therapy.
An elder at the Memorial Road Church of Christ, he and his wife, Joy, a Chronicle administrative assistant, have been married for 50 years. They have two sons and five grandchildren.
