Update: Season 3 premiere drew 8.6 million viewers.

When The Christian Chronicle featured the Robertson family in our October issue, we noted that the Season 1 finale of “Duck Dynasty” drew 2.6 million viewers.

The show, featuring members of the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, La., keeps growing in popularity.

Entertainment Weekly reports:

Here’s another cable series delivering ratings that beat the big broadcast networks.

The season finale of A&E’s breakout hit Duck Dynasty, about a wealthy Christian family of Louisiana duck call makers, shattered the network’s records while beating or tying all of broadcast in the adult demo Wednesday evening.

In the final national ratings, which were just released this morning by Nielsen, Duck Dynasty delivered 6.5 million viewers — the cable network’s top telecast ever.

Meanwhile, the above video of Willie Robertson discussing his faith at Harding University has gone viral, with more than 411,000 views. It was the third-most watched video on YouTube last week.

This family is bearing a great testimony for God. My family continues to pray that many lives will be changed for Christ through them. We praise God that they have been given this opportunity to show Christ to so many.

I have to watch DD OnDemand, since it is aired on Wednesday nights when we are in choir practice. Wonder how many viewers are not counted because of the scheduling.

My husband and I have always watched the show; and it was something about the father and mother that drew us to watching them. And after reading about them in the CC, I was elated and had to share with my husband. I am praying that they will keep the show honest and clean. It’s fun to watch! May God bless them in all they do, especially in serving Him.

Randall Harris, I’m am guessing a ton of viewers are not counted because my family can’t watch it on tv. We watch it after it is posted online.
