The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro, Tenn., reports:

Although most people will never be able to walk the streets the Apostle Paul did or see the place where Jesus prayed before his crucifixion, biblical archaeologist, tour guide and author Ferrell Jenkins has.

And beginning Sunday, he’ll bring images and experiences of his travels to biblical lands to Murfreesboro for a six-part lecture series.

“For many people (locations) are just spots on a map. … When you’ve been to the land of Israel and all the other places in the biblical world, it just brings (the Bible) to life,” says Jenkins, who will present, “Bible History and Archeology” through Wednesday at Cason Lane Church of Christ, 1110 Cason Lane. “Many people describe (touring the land) as the fifth gospel. It helps you understand. Another way it’s been described is there is an agreement between the (Bible) and the land, which is the way I view it and understand.”
