Texas church celebrates 100 years of history

As seen in the Jacksonville Daily Progress:
In the small town of New Summerfield, a group of small churches line up on one street.
Dead center is a church that stands tall —a church that will celebrate its 100th birthday on Sept. 16.Back in the early 1900s, the few New Summerfield Church of Christ members would alternate holding service in their homes.
In 1912, J.Henry Dickson and A.G Alex Tipton were appointed elders of the church and William Medford and George W. Sowell were appointed deacons.

Thanks for allowing this to be on the web. Not all are aware of how long there have been active Elders in the Lord’s church. They no doubt were the ones that started the work of seeing that the members were busy in their Bible Study and in their life of showing faith in their Study. God has Blessed the congregation since.
