Lubbock Christian University achieves record enrollment, breaking 2005 milestone
Lubbock Christian University in Texas reports:
LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Christian University announced that the school has achieved a record enrollment for the fall 2012 semester.
According to the office of the registrar, LCU has a fall enrollment of 2,135 students, which represents the largest number of students in the history of the university. The previous high was in the fall of 2005 when enrollment was 2,079. The new enrollment figure represents a near 100-student increase over the enrollment figure of 2,038 for the fall semester in 2011.
In 1957, Lubbock Christian University started with 110 students and a handful of dedicated faculty. This fall, LCU has achieved a record enrollment for the first time in eight years. Eclipsing the 2,000 student mark for the third consecutive year and for the fifth time in the last eight years has university officials extremely excited and thankful heading into the 2012-13 academic year.
