A lot of families are eager to get back in the routine of school this week, but along with that comes the challenge of purchasing school supplies. School supplies such as pencils, crayons and backpacks add up.

Northside Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, Ind.

For Tina Smith, purchasing new school items would have been difficult. However, this year her children do have new supplies, thanks to Northside Church of Christ in Jeffersonville.

On Friday, the church held its annual back to school giveaway, where supplies and services such as haircuts were offered.
