Church volunteers create bears to give to children in hospital

The Montgomery Advertiser in Alabama reports:
The faces of the little teddy bears, with their big black eyes and tiny neck ribbons, peek out of several bags and boxes around the room, ready to delight the children who’ll eventually take them home.
These are no ordinary teddy bears. These are special bears, handmade with love by members of the ladies ministry at Dalraida Church of Christ. The finished ones will soon be taken, about 125 at the time, to Jackson Hospital and the Jackson Surgical Center, where they’ll find life as a comfort to sick and scared little ones.
This project grew out of a lesson in a ladies’ study class, said Regina Stringer, one of the ministry members who today is decorating the teddy bears’ faces. The lesson was about commitment projects, and was a challenge to the class — what were they, as Christians, committed to?

I love the work these ladies are doing,but I want to also give credit to the ladies at West End Church of Christ who have made teddy bears for years to give to the children in the hospitals in and around Nashville as well as put them in gift boxes for poor children and send them to us in Nigeria with visitiors for the children at Nigerian Christian Hospital. I am grateful for all the work these ladies do.
