The Montgomery Advertiser in Alabama reports:

Former President George W. Bush said Thursday he is doing everything he can to “stay out of the limelight” in an attempt to regain his anonymity and also because he does not believe it is good for the nation to have a former presi­dent sharing his opinion about the current presi­dent.

The nation’s 43rd president spoke to approxi­mately 2,200 people at a fundraiser at the Ren­aissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Con­vention Center that raised almost $1 million for scholarships at Faulkner University, a private Christian university.

Faulkner is associated with Churches of Christ.

    I heard President Bush at Harding and was very impressed with his humility, humor and his appreciation of Christian education! I’m glad to see the great attendance and the great outcome of the fundraiser for Faulkner!
