Arkansas member killed in medical helicopter crash

Pilot Kenneth Robertson, a member of the Downtown Church of Christ in Searcy, Ark., died last week in a medical helicopter crash in Arkansas.
The Associated Press reported:
SCOTLAND, Ark. — A medical helicopter crashed Tuesday amid the hills of central Arkansas, killing three crew members who were trying to reach a person injured in a traffic accident and scattering debris across an area about a quarter-mile wide.
The Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter, a Bell 206 built in 1978, went down near the Scotland community in Van Buren County at about 4 a.m., according to the company and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Pilot Kenneth Robertson, flight nurse Kenneth Meyer, Jr., and flight paramedic Gayla Gregory all were killed, Air Evac spokeswoman Julie Heavrin said. There was no patient aboard the aircraft, Heavrin said.
Van Buren County Coroner Dorothy Branscum said the victims were killed on impact.

How sad for his family and friends. Thankful he was a Christian! My husband & I attended the Downtown Church of Christ while he was a student at Harding. My cousin, Al Harrison, pilot of an EagleMed helicopter died July 22, 2010 in Oklahoma. Also killed was a male nurse but the other male nurse was thrown free of the wreck and is living. Al was also a Christian and he leaves a 22 yr old daughter, Amber.
My heart felt condolence to Pilot Kenneth Robertson family members and to loved ones.
