iKnow where to find a good textbook
HENDERSON, TENN. - An initiative dubbed iKnow 2.0 will provide an iPad tablet computer to
each freshman who enrolls at Freed-Hardeman University starting in fall
2012, the university announced.
The program will give students the opportunity to access digital textbooks via the iPad, resulting in hundreds of dollars of savings from traditional textbooks, said Mark Scott, vice president of technology and innovation.
“We are not the most popular people with the bookstore right now,” Scott joked. “But they understand, as we do, that this is the future, and we have to continue to progress, if we want to continue to provide the best Christian education possible.”
Freed-Hardeman has partnered with a company called Inkling to reinvent the way students learn on campus, university officials said.
