Closed school's students reconnect
DALLAS - Six years after the closing of the Center for Christian Education, 82 former students, faculty members and friends gathered at the Preston Road Church of Christ.

Former students Chris Vidacovich, Michael Harbour and Stanley Helton spearheaded the recent reunion.

“The primary purpose was to provide an opportunity for those connected to the school to reconnect,” said Helton, minister of the Tammany Oaks Church of Christ in Mandeville, La.

In the absence of an alumni association, Helton began a Facebook group for the school so alumni could find each other.

That led to the reunion, where Ronnie Wiggins spoke on his years as a student and faculty member and recalled the reasons for the school’s closing.

The Christian for Christian Education, once known as the Preston Road School of Preaching, closed in June 2005, citing funding problems and difficulty gaining state accreditation.
