Bowes, a member of the Ashlea Gardens Church of Christ in Pretoria, South Africa, tells of finding out that she was not her parents’ biological child but was adopted as a baby in a closed adoption. Bowes explores the way this news touched her adult life and her search for healing.
Through this personal ordeal the author deals with the ongoing, complex dynamics that surround adoption.
