CHURCH HISTORY
Dyron B. Daughrity. The Changing World of Christianity: The Global History of a Borderless Religion. New York: Peter Lang, 2010. 290 pages. $34.95.

Several books document the movement of Christianity to the Global South — Asia, Africa and Latin America. Daughrity, assistant professor of religion at Pepperdine University, offers what may be a first — a textbook for understanding Christianity’s new ethos. Going region by region — and country by country — Daughrity circles the globe, giving an encyclopedic look at the faith’s growth and changing demographics. Each of the book’s nine chapters contains maps, statistics and discussion questions. LEADERSHIP
Charles B. Hodge Jr. All Christians Are Leaders! Searcy, Ark.: Resource Publications, 2010: Leafwood Press, 2010. 141 pages. $7.95.

Defining leadership in a broad way to include all Christians, Hodge, longtime preacher in Texas Churches of Christ, explores how leadership involves faith, wisdom, character and trust. Rooted in biblical passages and Scriptural examples, Hodge also tackles topics including the words for leaders, the requirements for leadership, women as leaders and how leaders use the art of negotiation.
