ABILENE, TEXAS - Abilene Christian University officials named two finalists today after a nationwide search for the next president of the university.

The finalists are Dr. Richard S. Lytle, dean of ACU's College of Business Administration, and Dr. Phil Schubert, executive vice president at ACU.

The person selected will take over for Dr. Royce Money, who will move into the position of ACU chancellor after 19 years as president.

A complete profile and statement from each finalist is available at www.acu.edu/presidentialsearch.

The finalists were chosen by the Presidential Search Advisory Committee after a national search and thorough screening process that began in August 2009. The next step in the process will be campus interviews Jan. 19-22.

"This process has been anchored in prayer, and we believe the finalists are exceptional candidates who have the ability to successfully lead ACU through the challenges and opportunities ahead," said Don W. Crisp, chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee.

"It is a tribute to our two finalists that they were selected from a national pool of experienced and outstanding professionals," he said.

Each finalist will have a two-day interview at ACU that includes sessions with faculty, staff, students and alumni. The ACU community will have the opportunity to provide feedback through a confidential online survey.

After the campus visits, ACU's Board of Trustees will conduct in-depth interviews with each finalist, receive a report from the Presidential Search Advisory Committee, and review feedback from the ACU community before making a decision.

The announcement of ACU's new president is scheduled for mid-to-late February. Additional information about the search process is available at www.acu.edu/presidentialsearch.
