CEO of 21st Century Christian dies at 60
NASHVILLE, TENN. - Barry Brewer, CEO of 21st Century Christian Publishing, died Dec. 10 after an 11-year battle with cancer.
Brewer, 60, was a member of the Hillsboro church. He led 21st Century Christian during changing times for Christian bookstores. Colleagues said Brewer navigated those changes while leading the company toward growth.

“He always had a heart for evangelism and insisted that the company’s publications remain true to God’s word,” said Tom Tignor, vice president of publications. “Barry’s mark on this company and the industry will be felt for many years.”

A devoted fan of Lipscomb University athletics, Brewer placed a high value on Christian education, friends said.

The true love of Brewer’s life was his family, and he always cherished times when they could all be together, Tignor said.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie, and two children, Martha Ann and Tyne.
