Diligence brings scholarship
SANTA CRUZ, BOLIVIA
In May Edmundo Lopez Bobeda, 20, gained a prestigious scholarship to study information technology in Geneva, Switzerland.
The son of Christians, Bobeda is an active member of the El Pari church, Santa Cruz.
Happy to learn that he had won out over 40 Santa Cruz applicants, Bobeda told local newspaper El Deber that, “to study much and persevere are the keys to achieve whatever one’s goal.”
“In my first attempt to win the (scholarship), I fell just short in the final round,” he told El Deber. “This weighed on me, but I didn’t give up.”
To ensure a better result on his second attempt, he devoured a text-book on physics and asked a university professor to help him master chemistry.
