Vova Fomenechev, basketball in shirt, attempts to get in touch with his maternal side during the final week of his wife’s pregnancy. Lyda Fomenechev gave birth to a baby girl — Lydmila — May 6, in the Russian town of Rostov-on-Don, said missionary Eileen Emch. On June 2 the Fomenechevs celebrated the one-year anniversary of their baptisms at the Rostov-on-Don church. Vova serves on the church’s leadership committee and Lyda helps in the children’s Sunday school class. “I can be learning about the Bible while I am teaching children about God,” Lyda said. The Prestoncrest church, Dallas, sponsors Emch’s work with children’s ministries in the area.
