ARIZONA
SURPRISE
The Kingswood Parke church celebrated its second anniversary March 31. The congregation is a church plant of the West Olive congregation, Peoria, Ariz.

Kingswood Parke now has 78 members, and West Olive has grown beyond its former size of about 500 people, according to Ben Pagenkopf, an elder along with Bob Scagnelli at Kingswood Parke. Herb Carnagey is evangelist for the church.

GEORGIA
Atlanta
About 30 couples attended a marriage enrichment seminar April 26-27 at the Greenbriar church. Michael Brown, minister at the Second Avenue church, Lewisburg, Tenn., was the guest speaker. In addition to weekend workshops, Brown spoke at Greenbriar’s Sunday service April 28.

“Money can buy a good house, but it cannot buy a home,” Brown told church members.

NEVADA
LAS VEGAS
The Boulevard church conducted a gospel meeting in late April with Guss Eoff, Llano, Texas, as speaker. Eoff uses hand-painted charts with black light to illustrate his lessons. The meeting closed with 18 responses, Eoff said.

NEW MEXICO
CLOVIS
The Key to the Kingdom, a broadcast ministry of the 16th and Pile church, began broadcasting in February to 11 African countries. According to Bret McCasland, spokesperson, about one-third of Africa’s population is in the broadcast area.

In February the ministry received 5,234 letters, sent out 5,826 Bible studies and were involved in the baptism of 14 people, McCasland said. Michael Tackett is the speaker for Key broadcasts.

OKLAHOMA
OKLAHOMA CITY
In late April the Southeast church celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Hispanic work — the first of its kind in Oklahoma, said Ken Beckloff of Southeast.

David Padilla, San Antonio, the first preacher for the Hispanic congregation, was the keynote speaker for the celebration. Originally a segregated congregation, Southeast began the Hispanic outreach in 1982 aided by area churches. The group is now predominantly Hispanic.

PENNSYLVANIA
POTTSTOWN
The Coventry Hills congregation, assisted by area churches hosted the 10th annual Southeastern Pennsylvania Bible Lectureship April 21-24. About 300 church members from 35 congregations in 13 states attended the event, according to Emmitt Channell of Coventry Hills.

This year’s theme was “God’s Word, God’s Home.” Dave Miller, director of Brown Trail School of Preaching, Fort Worth, was guest speaker for the event. Thirteen other speaks addressed various topics about the home.

MCMURRAY
The 17th annual Keystone State Worship was attended by 455 people from about 25 congregations in 7 states.


Marvin Phillips, Tulsa, Okla., was the speaker. The Pied Pipers acting troupe, Ohio Valley College, Parkersburg, W.Va., and the singing group, Heather, Rochester College, Rochester Hills, Mich., performed. Matt Hayes, Huntington, W.V., was the worship leader.

TENNESSEE
NASHVILLE
About 100 senior adults from 12 congregations attended a seminar at the Brentwood Hills church.

Topics included long-term care facilities, Veterans’ benefits and investment strategies for seniors, said John Johnston, organizer of the event.

Facilitators included church members Bill Price, Allstate Financial Services; Ruth Henry, Lipscomb University; and Mark Willoughby, CapTrust Financial Advisors.

TEXAS
AUSTIN
The 21st annual Southwest Lectureship at the Southwest church had an attendance of 365 for its Sunday morning service, according to church secretary Midge Siebert.

The event’s theme was “New Converts.” Speakers were Perry Cotham, Tracy Dugger, Keith Mosher, John Moore, Darwin Hunter, Robert Dodson and Marvin Weir.

WASHINGTON
SHORELINE
The Northwest church will celebrate its 100-year anniversary July 6-7. The church began in 1902 with a gathering in a backroom in a hall in Seattle. Eight people attended, said Sandy Roberts of the congregation.
