Historian Gragg presents evidence on how the Bible and the Judeo-Christian worldview weighed in the founding of the American republic. Using a documentary narrative style, the volume explores the links between major events in early U.S. history and religion.
Documented and indexed, Gragg begins with the founding of Jamestown and ends with the Declaration of Independence. He includes discussion of the role of faith in the Continental Congress and in the lives of the founding fathers.
