NASHVILLE, TENN. - Gary Holloway, Bible professor at Lipscomb University and minister of the Natchez Trace church, has been named executive director of the World Convention.

Leaders say the World Convention, headquartered in Nashville, provides those whose spiritual heritage can be traced to the Stone-Campbell Movement a chance to fellowship, develop understanding and practice cooperation.

The convention includes members of Churches of Christ, Christian Churches and Disciples of Christ. Holloway is the first person from an a cappella church to serve as the organization’s director.

“The appeal of this position for me is the opportunity it gives to experience and promote the wholeness of the church across denominational, racial, language and national boundaries,” Holloway said.
