Church members distributed eyeglasses and Bibles in the seaside village of Batoka, Cameroon, recently.

“We studied about the hidden treasures of the Kingdom,” said missionary Tamu Blakeney. “We had more amazement from the villagers that a missionary from the U.S. Church of Christ would come to their village and care.”

Blakeney works with Cameroonian Christians including Forju Mary Forbin. Blakeney conducts women’s Bible studies in her home and uses her master’s in counseling to help engaged couples, prison inmates and Christian families. The Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, church sponsors her work.

One Cameroonian, Esther, accompanies Blakeney from town to town as she works. “Esther wants to be a missionary,” Blakeney said.
